Some People Are Worth Melting For

Merry Christmas to you ❤

Because you are amazing and you are loved. Because you bring me so much joy. Because you make me feel like anything is possible.

Last Christmas was completely different than this one. I had recently joined a church that was teaching me to put God in the center of my life and build everything else up around Him.

Last Christmas, I was sitting at my Mom’s house with my little sister and we talked about our hopes and dreams for the upcoming year. I prayed for direction. I prayed to find missing puzzle pieces toward building the life I loved.

Last Christmas, I was dreaming of a trip to the UK – a trip I had imagined my entire life, and a trip that had tickets booked to make it a reality. I had decided that being a solo traveler would be good for my soul.

Last Christmas, I got emotional as I imagined flying solo in the adventure of life. I accepted that being single was awesome and I tried to convince myself that I believed in the saying: It will happen when it’s supposed to happen.

Last Christmas, I never imagined how different this Christmas would be.

This Christmas, I have a soul that feels joy like I never thought was possible. I experienced the trip of a lifetime – a trip that forever changed the way I see the world, and taught me to simplify. I experienced losses, but for the first time I had a shoulder to cry on and arms that wrapped around me, loving me through it all.

This Christmas, I reflect on a year filled with mini adventures with the best road trip companion that a girl could ask for, and although I have no idea what next Christmas will look like, in this moment I am filled with peace and gratitude.

Thank you to the people that have made 2017 incredible. Thank you for laughing with me. Thank you for crying with me. Thank you for being my calm during every storm. Thank you for being the best summer playlist I could ever dream up. Thank you for making me feel beautiful in my own skin. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for the positivity. Thank you for the adventures. Thank you for being brave with me. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for being epic.

Cheers to you, and to 2018!

xoxo EJB
